Songwriter Spotlight:The Dearmans

2014-09-06 01.37.10 pmI just returned from spending a few days with my friends Kirk and Deby Dearman in Franklin, Tennessee – just south of Nashville. Every time I’m with these precious friends I’m encouraged, challenged and blessed in the way they share their lives and gifts with the body of Christ.

You might know the Dearmans from one of the many worship songs they’ve written including, ‘We Bring The Sacrifice of Praise’, ‘Above All Else’, and ‘Commune with Me’ to name a few. In fact, ‘Sacrifice of Praise’ ranked in the Top Ten for ten straight years on the charts of Christian Copyright Licensing, International.

What you may not know is that Kirk and Deby spent seven years serving the church in Europe. They wrote a musical, assembled a team of musicians, singers and dancers and toured cathedrals throughout Europe, bringing the sacrifice of praise everywhere they went.

During their time in Europe, Kirk and Deby also helped form a thriving artist community that flourishes today as Creative Arts Europe, under the leadership of their dear friends, Jim and Anne Mills.

Today, Kirk and Deby are still bringing the sacrifice of praise – whether Kirk is recording one of his memorable instrumental piano cds (see his instrumental recordings here) ; or Deby is in her art studio painting beautiful scenes reminiscent of French impressionists artists (see her paintings here); or whether the two of them are writing, producing and performing in their multi-sensory worship experience, ‘Come To The Quiet’ – the Dearmans are still pioneering great works of art for the church.

In fact, they want to share one of these works with you for free. You can download one of Kirk’s newest songs, Red Sea Song’ here.  It’s the first one on the list of songs and downloadable absolutely free.

Take advantage of it and let Kirk and Deby share a sacrifice of praise with you.
